Lucinda Riley est née en 1965 en Irlande, et après une carrière d'actrice au théâtre, au cinéma et à la télévision, elle écrit son premier roman à 24 ans. Ses livres ont depuis été traduits dans 37 langues, et continuent de toucher et d'émouvoir dans le monde entier. Sa série Les Sept Soeurs est devenue un phénomène mondial, créant un genre littéraire à part entière. Atteinte d'un cancer depuis 2017, Lucinda s'est éteinte le 11 juin 2021, entourée de sa famille.
